Thanks! I have also picked out these seats from bass boat seats.com

I still need to pick out a group 27 deep cycle battery for my 55# thrust minkota motor. The owners manual is calling for a group 27 and I only have a group 24 deep cycle on hand at the moment, should be ok I would think?

Given your stated requirements, I agree with the poster who said you would quickly find yourself with a boat too small. IMO you would be better off looking at something in the 14-16 ft range.

My wife and I cant carry a 14-16 foot boat...our ponds dont have boat ramps

This 1240 is 107 pounds, but thanks so much for your reply

You've got it. Make it work.

With regard to the battery. It all depends on how much you use it. Some guys have their foot on the pedal all day, against the wind.

Others, like me, run up wind once and spend the next hour or so working their way down the shoreline, casting with the wind.

Give it a try. Stay upwind of your dock so you can paddle or drift back home if you misfigure the battery's capacity.

Stink, that has me confused: why don't they go round so fast ??

I think that simple math shows that a 12" wheel will turn at least 3- maybe 4 times
faster when pulled behind a vehicle with 16 or 17" wheels.

if you carry a good spare, you don't need to go running around looking for a replacement if one blows out.
plus - the newer trailer wheels and tires are very common in tire shops as well as wal-mart
and sporting goods stores. the vintage (pre-1960) 12" tires will drive you nuts trying to find a replacement.

Depending of course, on what part of the country you are in.

He's referring to the OP asking about the two different trailers. One has 12" wheels and the other 8" wheels. The 12" wheels won't spin as fast as the 8" wheels and be easier on the bearings in the long run. I've always heard 8" trailer wheels referred to as bearing burners.

Dealer gave me a spare with the deal...$1,900 out the door new 2017 boat,2018 trailer and spare....all taxes in the price. Im Super happy!

I like the new boat, but sadly you missed out on a golden opportunity.

You had the chance to use this as an opportunity to talk your wife into getting another bigger boat and keeping your old boat. One boat is good but two boats would be great.

If I only had the space...Running out of room for all the toys lol...

My seats have arrived from https://www.bassboatseats.com Super fast 2 day shipping for free

So glad I went with the 2 tone colors...They seem to be made really well, but only time will tell

Just returned from our first trip out in the Lowe 1240...Perfect boat for our spots! Having the 40" bottom makes all the difference in the world. Standing up is no problem at all. Really really stable little boat. The clam shell style seats from Deck Mate are very comfortable and very happy with them. They only weigh 7 lbs. each but have real nice padding. The wife put 5 fish in the boat and I did 1. I think I was more interested in the new boat lol...Have a great Sunday!!!
