I’m doing all I can to take a selfie without screwing up when I’m alone. Believe me I’m happy when I fish

That is funny because I thought the exact same thing. Between trying to hold the stick, then pushing the button several times because I either cut my head off or took a picture of the sky, I probably have a look of confusion. hahah

Me, too, particularly if my main aim is to work quickly so I can get a fish back in the water.

Went back to Jackfish Lake today. Dragged the boat along. There were 3 or 4 vehicles in the parking lot. 2 of them were conservation officers. 20240620_090647.jpg
They were doing search and rescue practise and taking this boat out.

I told them that I would look out for them in case the boat quit on the water. I have 2 oars so I could lend them one, I said.
I caught 8 Northern Pike in 2.5 hours of trolling around enjoying the lake.

Now I need to figure out why my Garmin fish finder has no backlite. Can't see the screen to well.

How Old is that Bug Stick?
(y)
As I recall it dates back to 1975...................it is all I ever fish with when fishing in fresh water. Numberless quantity of Bass, panfish and others have been caught on that outfit.

Gorgeous Marble Eye!!

Eagle Lake off of the 502? A buddy of mine has a lake house on Eagle Lake.

Unfortunately, I never made it that far north. Only made it as far as Vedette. We stayed at the Timberwolf Lodge and fished a few of the portage lakes up there. Biggest damn walleyes I have ever boated up in that territory.

Same Eagle Lake, but totally different area on the west side. Buddies and I fish out of South Shore Lodge on an annual trip. The lodge is 10 miles due south of Vermillion Bay. We drive a narrow road through the deep woods to a pick up point, and then are transported to the lodge by boat. No road access to the lodge.

It's so far over to the area by Highway 502 that we've never fished that portion of the lake.

Everyone needs to do at least one trip to Northern Ontario. Mine was on the other side of Lake Superior. Dog Lake near Missonabie. The best fishing was actually some portage lakes off the main lake. Quite the wilderness with lakes just about everywhere. It was as about as remote as I have ever been.
