Just a heads up for those with power poles on their boats. A buddy of mine has one on his boat and was going down the road last week, one of the hoses split and oil evacuated. The power pole was dragging on the highway and some people finally got him to pull over. A dealer told him those hose failures are a common occurrence, some split, some swell up like balloons and bust. If you have one, check the hoses.

Hey thanks Tim,

I thought about getting one and the only reason I didn't was because I didn't want to deal with the hydraulic fluid reservoir and lines. I run a 4 stroke so I don't have to deal with an oil tank for the motor and my jack plate in self contained so I don't have to deal with a remote tank for that ether.

I decided to go with a "non power power pole................................... :LOL2:
Thanks for the post good info.
