Here's the bunk cover question as I understand it.
Yes, carpet will absorb saltwater and corrode your boat.
Mine are vinyl coated for that reason.
But when you go to retrieve a boat on a ramp, the boat is level in the water and the trailer is on a downward angle.
When you bring the boat up to the trailer, only the very front of the boat makes contact.
As you pull forward, the trailer rises and meets the boat.
Very little movement of the boat on the trailer.
So, what's the big deal?
I suppose in freshwater and almost level ramps ,it may make a difference, but I have yet to see a level ramp.
I think some people over think everything.
