Now that’s getting it done! I would have never thought of that.I must be doing something wrong. The last time I went after sand bass I used a cigarette foil from the top of a pack. Bare hook with the foil wrapped around it. A few slip shot weights and was in business. Made a decent cast and let it sink a bit and then started to jerk it a little while reeling in. Worked out great.
These rigs are for trolling when it’s hot and they’re hanging out close to the bottom.
I lived on a lake back then and every year at the same time they would be on the same hump schooling. Then they would bite anything you could chunk.
