say you are looking at 2 similar boats within budget, but 1 costs a few hundred more and has livewell built in. Is there any reason to not go with that?

if BOTH are within your budget, it is a no brainer to get the one with the live well.
as long as it WORKS the way it should and the plumbing does not leak.
For that couple of hundred bucks different, it should be ERROR FREE .

Definitely get the one with the livewell.
Even if you never keep fish, you can use it as a cooler or extra storage.
And if you have little kids like me, they can use it for a toilet. Don't laugh ... it's saved a few trips.
