transom pods

When duck hunting with a buddy last year, his boat had a couple extra pods off the back to keep the boat balanced when everyone is on one side or the other (like when you are all huddled in the blind on the seat). For fishing, it's pretty easy to balance out, just put the front seat on the left-ish side of the boat, but for hunting, everything is going to be pretty much on the right side.

Here is the catch. His boat was a flat bottom boat. Mine's a semi-V (it's fairly flat at the back). Is there anything like that to help balance a boat like mine?

Do you mean sponsons? I'd imagine that they could be added to any type of boat and would add flotation and stability to a semi V as well as a flat bottomed boat. For very occasional use, you could add foam stabilizers on a PVC rig. I actually have two of them sitting in my shop that I used on a canoe.You could have them for free, but shipping would probably cost more than the materials to make them up. I used very large pool noodles shaped at each end, with PVC inserted up the hole. Rich

If you do some searching, there was a thread about someone getting this done on their boat. I don't recall who's project it was.

i believe it was specknreds... i posted a pic of my cardboard mock up in my thread last week tho. Im planning on putting some on my boat too. i say DO IT!
