So I just brought home my first tin boat. The interior has been coated with a bed liner type material and the exterior is bare aluminum. The boat is new and will be garage kept. Will the surface need anything to keep it looking good? Will the bare metal oxidize or deteriorate without any paint or clear coat on it?

aluminum will oxidize over time (years).
cruise through YouTube of how others treat pontoon boats
and aluminum boats with a regiment of preventative maintenance.
it really comes down to just how shiny do you want to keep it. (your boat = your call)
depends on your location, if you are near a paper mill or steel mills
and other atmospheric conditions that have acids in the air.

other than that, just buff it every 5 to 10 years and you will be good to go.

photos along the way will be appreciated !
