I've got a late 80's vintage mariner outboard of the 18-25hp series (mine is a 20hp but it doesn't much matter) with a tiller shift & throttle setup that I'd like to convert to remote. If anyone has a parts boat or motor lying around with these components or if you'd like to swap for a tiller setup please let me know.

I've had no luck searching local boat-yards, but if there is a reliable online source someone's aware of please share.

Mercury motors of this series differ from the Mariners in these components, so I'm stuck only searching for someone with a Mariner. Just about everything else on them is the same...figures...

I know this is a few months old, but, did you ever find the controls
you were looking for ??
I just toasted my 1988 Force 35hp . . . it over heated with the P/O
and damaged the bottom cylinder 90%.... ( of which I did not know )
and it ran fine with me for about 3 outings and died at the dock.
So I toasted the remainder 10%.
LUCKILY, I found one on C/L last night that comes with all controls and
wiring harness.
So I will be parting out this 1988 35hp Force on E-Bay.
Of course, anyone from TinBoats can have first grabs at any of it.

83 was a different model run - the throttle connections & shift linkages are totally different, thanx anyway

I'm hesitant to pickup a steering wheel & throttle control if I haven't yet found the motor side components, but for the right price I suppose it couldn't hurt... I need all the motor mounted components - and it's far too expensive to buy them new for what I'm looking to do with them.

Thanx though for responding...I'll keep hoping. If spring gets here and i haven't found the parts i want i'm just going to finalize the floor layout with a tiller in mind and add an extra long compartment spanning the middle and rear benches along the starboard side.

Hell - I'll trade my running 50hp Evinrude outboard w/ all its steering/remote/cables etc (everything needed to install it) for a similarly complete Mariner XD setup (remote, controls, steering etc.) of either 18, 20 or 25hp or a more modern 15hp remote setup if anyone's interested.

I really want to know I can dump the tiller and finish the layout of the boat with a side console in the design.
