Hey guys I have a question about how many batteries I should run in my tin boat. Here is a little info about the boat: it's a 15 foot landau with a 40 hp evinrude, 1992 electric start. Here is what I am going to run: 500 gph bilge pump, nav lights halogen bulbs, courtesy led lights, spotlight...

I paid that for a 15 footer with a trolling motor, and 40 hp evinrude. It was a 1992 boat and motor. Needed some work though, but that is where the fun is. I think I would pay $600-700 for it. Depends on how the inside looks though. -Jacob

Have you tried to grease the grease points on the motor? There should be at least 1 or 2 on the vertical lower unit steering shaft. (Don't know exact name) The motor could be binding. I would try that before going through the trouble of buying a new cable. -Jacob

It is my understanding that since your exhaust is directed out through the propeller the converging ring is there to ensure the exhaust gets funnelled away when you are in neutral or moving in reverse, and prevents exhaust gases from entering the working area of the blades. It also helps...

I am going to be starting a build pretty soon and i am trying to plan ahead. :lol: I will be installing lights on the inside of my boat, and was wondering if there is a specific color to keep the bugs away at night. Any help or prior experience would be greatly appreciated.
