Depending upon the time of year. This is the Sonoran desert thus most of our cutting is done in the spring and fall. Once the daytime temps touch the high 70's the bugs begin to crawl. Especially spiders. Lottsa spiders. I've only seen a few Rattlesnakes in the standing cane and tules. Ever seen a panicked look on a snakes face?

There's a 16' Bass Tracker V-16 under that old fart. My left hand is resting on the tiller. This is some of the "brush" we cut thru and into to fish oxbows on the lower Colorado River AZ. Fishin's good. Gettin' there not so much.
Do you know Bob LaLonde?

OK, NOW YOU'RE JUST SHOWING OFF! LOL! GREAT CATCH'S BEAUTY'S!

Went fishing yesterday and took an old Vietnam Vet friend out with me.

Target species were crappie and maybe a bluegill or two. Expected to also see one or two bass.

Ended up with a 22" walleye. That lake is not "famous for" walleye and I've never caught one there.

I was working one spot that was being pretty productive, albeit for smaller crappie. I was using a 1/32 oz lead jig with a 2" baby shad plastic. Ultralight rod with 4 lb test mono.

When the fish bit, I thought, "Nice bite." Within a few seconds I thought, "Wow, this is a big crappie." A few seconds later I thought, "World class crappie, maybe a decent sized bass." After a few more seconds, and after loosening the drag, I thought, "That's no bass."

Had to get it in the boat by hand because I didn't bring a net. Unhooked, pics taken, and then released.

I was amazed that it didn't bite through the mono nor snap the line.
