Love Toyotas, have a 2002 Celica, 340,000 miles, still runs like new.

My brother had a 93 Celica a few years ago, bought it from Picknpull for $1200 with about that many miles on it. Couldn't believe how nice it was, inside and out. That era of Toyotas is truly unmatched in terms of quality.

Was awakened around 2:00 am to a house with no heat; went out to home depot to get some room heaters until the HVAC service technician can arrive around 12 noon (I hope); Oh! well just another day in the neighborhood, lol...

So we haven't had a kitchen in almost 2 weeks. The Mrs decided ours was outdated and needed a refresh so I gutted the whole thing. The new cabinets got delivered yesterday so I'm one step closer to having a kitchen again. I've cooked almost every meal the last 2 weeks on the pellet grill outside and we're in a cold windy snap it's not been above 33deg for a high so that's been fun. We actually ordered out 3 times since the work started which is really rare for us we prefer to cook our own food and the closest restaurant of any kind is about a 30min drive so getting it delivered or picking it up yourself and it still being warm when you get home isn't gonna happen. How do people afford to order out frequently? I'd go broke trying to feed a family of 4 if we ate at a resteraunt a couple times a week.

I have 6 space heaters because our heater went out a few years back.

it's 62 again in my house this morning, part had to be ordered and will not get here until Monday afternoon, so Tuesday is the earliest I can get heat again and I have 5 space heaters going right now!

At least it's 62 degrees inside, outside 18 degrees! lol

wait until they move out, it's a lot cheaper!

Had the no heat thing last year. This year. Whole new HVAC and new panel with generator hookup and generator.
Good for you, here's to hoping your service team installed everything as perfectly as it should be done!

Here's to hoping my gas valve comes in today and the service technician can get it installed tomorrow afternoon; he left us with little to no heat (Electric room heaters) the outdoor unit has a temperature sensor that cuts the outdoor unit off so the gas furnace can run and provide more efficient and better cost heat to the home; technician never checked setting on the outdoor thermostat so when the outdoor temperature falls below 42 degrees we get nothing!

I tried explaining how I designed the system but it fell on deaf ears!

Gutted the mint interior out of my 2k trans am. It's getting antique plates Jan 1 and we plan on doing race car things

Fun car with lots of potential.

One of my many mistakes was selling my 2001 WS6, 6-speed. Wish I had it back.

Thier value has shot up the last couple years. I kept it cage free for awhile but nhra doesn't like ttops and we're shooting for a low 9 second car so we can compete in true street class.

We had something similar... Our heat pump works down to about 36 degrees and then kicks over to backup heat coils. We mainly heat with a wood stove, but sometimes we need the heat to work when it's cold and we are away.

Obviously, something went wrong with the resistance heat side. It was struggling for awhile, then it went out completely. The tech checked the coils, and they were fine. Replaced the limit switches, and it worked again. Great. But that lasted for all of one night.

The tech came back, tested everything, and then put a flashlight to the condenser/heat exchanger. He looked several times, frowned and asked me, "How long has it been since this was cleaned?

"Cleaned? Never, that I know of." (Over 12 years)

"This makes sense, now. The system looks really good overall, but from what I can see, this thing is packed with dirt."

He spent the next couple of hours with various detergents, chemicals and a garden hose, and it was shocking how much stuff was packed between every fin of that condenser, but water would still not go through it. I eventually pulled out an electric pressure washer set on low, and it helped to finally get a spot cleared out, and we expanded the clean area until the whole thing was done. It was crazy how much stuff was in there.

It was well after dark when we vacuumed up all the debris and water, blew everything dry with compressed air and then test-fired the system.

It works better than I can ever remember. It used to take a long time to bring up the temp 2 degrees, and it would run almost constantly to maintain temp on cold nights. Now, it kicks on for a couple of minutes and cuts off. It works incredibly well!

I really appreciate that tech sticking with it and actually fixing our problem. Other companies gave blanket statements that systems should be replaced if over 10 years old. The tech says they just want our money. He says we should easily get another 10 years out of it, no problem.

We have him a very good tip!
