Well me and Joe C. headed back to Cherokee this morning to meet up with our buddy Greg and take him on his first true FNF adventure. We launched at daylight and the fog was extremely thick. Water Temp was between 47-48. We used the GPS and managed to make our way a few miles up the lake before finding a point that looked like a good place to start. Within the first 20 minutes Joe hooked up on a monster Carp which broke his line at the boat. After all of that excitement I hooked up on the first SM of the day about 15 minutes later. From there it was on and off all day... some spots would hold 2-4 fish while others would hold maybe 1. We had a great time getting to know Greg and catching fish. We ended up with 16 hook-ups and 12 landed... 9 Smallmouth, 2 Largemouth and 1 Spot. Our biggest brownfish went just a hair under 4lbs and had at least 2 more very nice ones get off at the boat. Greg managed two on the FNF today... 1 SM and 1 very nice LM that was 4lbs. When the sun got up around noon it really started heating up... nothing like working on a good tan the last week of December. Below are a few pics of the day. It was great to get back out on the water and to meet and fish with another fine ETF member. Thank the Lord for the great day and the time of fellowship.
