Thanks! The hatch is a Tempress. I’m impressed with the quality. The only thing that was annoying was that I couldn’t tell if it came with the tackle inserts, so I ordered some. It does in fact come with 4...so now I have 8.
The floor is going to be fitted with mats from MarineMat out of Oldsmar, FL. They send you clear plastic sheeting to make your template and then you can do either stick on or snap on. I’m going with the snaps. I’m going to do that gray and green fish scale pattern that is in one of the pictures. The outside is going to be black and green. I just dropped it off to have the black/green fish skeleton wrap put on today.
The next item (which probably should have been the first), is to address the trailer. Tires were 15 years old and the wheels were different sizes (got a good chuckle out of that one). Two sets of lights (none of which work) need to be replaced. After replacing the wheels and tires, in my haste to get moving in the dark in 25 degree weather, I neglected to put the old school grease fittings back on, which made for a surprise mess when I got it home.
Finally, the coupler needs to be adjusted, as the dang thing popped off on my ball hitch...on a downhill grade...in front of a local cop...while I was moving it with a loaner vehicle that is not supposed to be used to tow anything. All in all, this weekend has been a comedy of errors, most of which were solely based on my poor decisions.
Should make for a good story, though.
