Fuel lines..any difference

Ok, I know that the EPA has siad that you have to use the expensive stuff, but can you use fuel line that you get at NAPA, AutoZone, ect in place of this expensive stuff? Just thought I would ask as I have to move my tank forward and do not feel like spending $100 on new hose. Thanks.

you can use the stuff at napa. however you are supposed to use the marine grade low permiable (sp?) fuel lines when on a boat. i wont lie, i have a section of automobile fuel line on my boat. my tank is not in a enclosed area though.

I've heard that the new fancy stuff isn't as susceptible to ethanol deterioration. If that's true, then I'd spend the extra money for the nicer lines .... your carbs will thank you :lol:

Be careful which one u buy. The grey with orange lettering has a liner that gets eaten by ethanol. Get the grey with blue writing. Liner won't degrade.

I run automotive grade fuel line with no problems... I do run ethanol free fuel , have an older outboard. Tank not enclosed ether, put it all the way in the front and run the fuel lines behind the ribs.
