Hi ya'll. I've been lurking around for awhile and learned quite a bit on this site. With the drought here in central Texas, I decided to buy a jon boat off craigslist ($100) awhile back to hit smaller lakes, creeks and rivers. It was going to be a paddle boat, but things changed, I just bought a trolling motor, and hope to replace with an outboard soon come tax return time. After taking it out a few times, I feel like it needs more room for rods, cooler, etc. I've rebuilt the transom, and prepped/painted spots where I added exterior LED's. It started off as my "ugly ass boat", but I want to do a bit more with it. Here's my questions/ concerns.

1) It's 14' long, 32'' wide, 34'' wide in the middle. I know its to narrow to deck it. I was thinking just a floor and removing some bench seats. Which seats can I remove?

2) WTF is this boat??? The only markings I have is the pic below. I have no idea what the make/ manufacturer is.

3) What seats can I remove without crushing this thing.

Thanks All!!!

Welcome to tin boats!

Your boat does not seem to have many structural ribs so I wouldn't remove any of the seats as they appear structural. I am no expert but thats my 2 cents.

I agree. I see only 2 ribs. There could be some hiding under the seats. You could always throw a piece of plywood on as a deck and if you don't like it, take it off.

Thanks! There are 3 ribs on it. I plan on leaving the rear bench in possibly removing the middle seat, front or both if it's scruturely sound. The way the benches are set up it would make it tricky to add a floor. Not to concerned decking just because it seems to narrow. I don't have any problem balancing on the floor right now.
