Installed my new vinyl covered floor/deck covering today.

When I trashed my former 20 year old Lowe, I kept the aluminum decking.

On my new 1652 G3 Hull, I partially filled the space between the hull deck stringers with foam. I then screwed the old aluminum deck over it. Over the weekend, I bought a 4x8 piece of 1/4 inch exterior BC plywood. Yesterday, before the game, I glued the vinyl sheeting, that I bought from Defender Industries, onto the plywood.

This morning, I slipped the new top-deck on top of the aluminum and screwed everything down.
I still have to add a deck/floor vent of some sort, so that water on the decking will funnel down to the bilge-pump area in the stern.

Looks good. We'll see how well it holds up over time. The reviews of this material have all been pretty positive.

Thanks, I found a 2 x 12 register/heat vent on Amazon. That'll arrive Wednesday and when I get it cut in, I'll feel safer when I take the boat out next time.

My old boat had a one-inch slot below the seat to accommodate the water. It also, though, accommodated a small bass one day. Pheeew!

I had to remove the entire rear seat and foam to get it out. This hull is welded and it wouldn't be as easy as that job was.

I actually looked at a shower drain today. Unfortunately, the space between the stern bench and the hull support is only 3 3/4 inches. So.. I went with the two inch wide vent.

That looks like a sweet set up. What motor are you running? I lived near you in La Marque, TX and Texas City, TX briefly until Hurricane Alicia blew in August of 1983. At any rate, lots of boats to choose from....

uncdl1....The original 16 ft Lowe came with a 1996 50 hp Johnson. It still runs great, so I moved it, and the console, over to the new G3 hull. Only had it up on plane ONCE since I got it. Looks to be plenty of motor for that hull. I am far from a speed demon, anyhow.

Actually, what you looked at wasn't my hull, though the results are the same. I bought the 1652 VBW. Same basic hull as the SC, but, since I had the console, and I am cheap...I bought the VBW .
