Jet ski motor recommendations?

My girlfriend has a VX110 jet ski. My FXHO will outrun it on takeoff, but not on top end. Even though it's pushing a 1648 hull, the FXHO still has more than enough hole shot to yank a skier on plane quickly:

If her vx will chase an fxho down on top end the fxho has a problem, that should NEVER happen, this info comes from a IJSBA world champion boat builder and master Yamaha tech

If your going to a 2 sroke Yamaha skip the 135. 1200 and go to the newer 1200 or 1300 power valve motors, way better by far.

Don't use the cat, replace with D-plate, power valves are very dependable, much broader power range and Stabler engines.
