Lowrance 4x hdi help

I need help! I found an elite 4xhdi at Walmart.... Clearance for $69! Anyhow.... On the box, it clearly says it's also a chart plotter (see pic). But this unit has no gps or maps, nor anywhere load a card such as navonics...etc.
Anyone know what's up with this chart plotter claim on the box? I just have the standard broadband transducer. I plan on calling Lowrance tomorrow to check on this but I was checking to see if you guys knew anything... Thanks!

More than likely it's a general description for their line of the 4 series units. Regardless, that's a great price!

The Elite 4 has a GPS/Chartplotter, the Elite 4x does not. I got a 4x around Christmas and look forward to getting some use out of it. I couldn't justify the added cost of the 4 just for GPS. I'll be using my phone as a chartplotter. You've got a great unit especially considering the price, but the box is misleading.

Thanks for the quick replies guys! Yeah I absolutely agree about the great price...... I couldn't pass it up! I actually also have a 3x that I'm going to move to the front TM.... And yes, I'm playing around with Android apps to use on my phone. Thanks again!

That's what we are here for lol. I bought a 4hdi last year and hooked it up on the boat and got no response from the unit. I checked everything in my power before I called Lowrance and they instructed me to send it to them for a replacement. I got it back about 2 weeks later, and to my surprise, it was a 5hdi! Hooked that bad boy up and still nothing. Turns out I had a bad harness which only allowed about 6v to the unit. They also replaced it for free. Now I have a 7 chirp at the helm and the 5 on the bow. Love me some Lowrance product.

Lol... Now that's got me thinking about raising cane with Lowrance to get some freebies! Jk, but I did send them an email to try to get some clarification.

Holy crap! I called them just to ask about the claim, and they said it was a known issue with a batch of units sent to Walmart. They are replacing it with an elite 4 chirp unit! GPS, hdi/dsi and chirp included! I didn't ask for it... It's an automatic for anyone who purchased that unit from Walmart!
