Hello everyone, I've been lurking for awhile now and decided to use idea's found here and redo my boat with no budget over the last 3 days.
What I have:
1975 Alumacraft Jon Boat, 1976 Evinrude 25hp tiller, Motorguide 40# stern mount troller

What I spent:
$165.50

Purchased:
4x8x3/4 weather rated plywood $27.00 x 2 = $54
6'x8' rolls all weather carpet $17 x 2 = $34
blue boats seats (meijer clearance) $5 x 2 = $10
fixed pedestal post $17
Pin Pedestal base $15
Pin Pedestal $12
pin seat base $12
1 gallon water seal $9
25 count stainless screws $2.50

Already had:
2 seat swivel bases
1 can spray adhesive
transom mount troller (turned the head around for bow use)
16' jumper cables (wire troller from battery to bow)
8' 2x4 (front deck joists)
4 galvanized joist hangers
Dewalt 18v cordless tools
bostick slap stapler
4 stainless hinges

I removed the original center seat of the boat by grinding the rivet from the inside and hammerimg remaining rivet flat into the hull.
Laid new floor to the front, and built front deck. I screwed plywood to original aluminum deck front and hung the joist hangers on the plywood (screwed through joist hanger into deck metal)...real sturdy...
Plywood floor was screwed to boat ribs and front deck surface.

I did not put insulation between plywood and hull. I think having air circulate around plywood (even though it's water sealed) will delay any potential rot / mildew. Just having plywood made a big difference in noise from original exposed tin.

I left the rear seat in place as I prefer driving by sitting on a boat cushion. The batteries and fuel tank remain between the rear seat and transom.

Had it on water yesterday with my son ("he caught his first crappie") and it was stable. Motor pushed it well and am overall very happy with result.

Only thing I may build is a livewell but haven't landed on a plan yet. Any Ideas?
