Newbie here. I'm afraid I may have mounted my transducer too close too my little trolling motor. Any thoughts? I haven't had it out yet, just thought I'd ask to be prepared to have to move it. I didn't want to go further out since it would sit right in front of that bunk. I guess I could've gone out beyond that. Thanks.

Your TM isn't an issue - you could mount that transducer directly to the bottom of the TM housing and it would work fine. They even make some very nice machined fittings ('Ducersaver is the brand if i'm not mistaken) to do exactly this. I've got one mounting my side imaging sensor to my TM.

The only problem you could have would be if you have a seam or other obstruction on the boat bottom forward of the transducer that would cause turbulence in the water ahead of the sensor but running on the TM alone this won't matter as the boat won't travel fast enough to cause a disturbance.

OK thanks a lot! I made sure there were no rivets or anything on the underside of the boat before I mounted the transducer there. It looked nice and smooth.

If you have STD sonar that's the item you're looking for and there's plenty of them available on Ebay.
