Spent the last few days working on my zero turn lawnmower. The hydro drive units started acting up. Decided to change oil in the drive units, didn't realize they had to be removed to change the oil !! Was told at purchase they were serviceable units....they are not !! Of course the dealer closed last summer so attempting the job myself. Getting ready to reinstall them....not a fun job...need about 4 more hands....make sure the hydro drive units are " servicable" if anyone buys one !!

Moved and spread 1/2 a dump truck load of cedar mulch and mowed the lawn for the first time this year Saturday. Raining today. Going to Cosco for meat to restock freezer. It's tough cooking for just 2 sometimes. We usually by meat in bulk and break it down an vacuum pack into 1 meal quantities and freeze. Having said that, with the current price of groceries I would hate to be buying for a large family.

Now that's a boat. Tell us more about this "Crazy Boat" you just bought. Looks great.
It's a four Winns HD8. 26.5', 300 HP Merc V8 on the back. I sold our summer home back around 2016, my daughter now 14 was reminiscing about the house and the boat especially. I originally wanted a 14' tinner. But hearing her pine over the memories I broke down. We went to Indiana and looked at a smaller boat but it wasn't built for the waters off NJ. So we flew home and looked around. Almost pulled the trigger on a Solara, but the warranty was only 1 year. Came upon this Four Winns and it ticked nearly all the boxes. It's a family fun boat and I want to enjoy my family now before she goes to college and has to start work when life kicks in. For me it is all worth the cost and expense. I can always downsize later.

Here's a link. Mine is all white https://www.fourwinns.com/us/boat/hd8

Superb indeed. An onboard toilet! Lounge area! 300 HP. Yep, that's got it.
I don't think you could sink that boat too easily. Is this correct?

Not near as exciting as what @Crazyboat has going on.

We drove down to Los Angeles for three days of baby sitting the grandkids while my daughter and her husband take a mini vacation. This is the second day. I'm worn out. The little urchins are still running strong. Haha.

I thought it would be a good idea to go hunting this past Tuesday. I brought along my dog to see if she was into hunting. What a great dog. While walking on the road to the area where I figured the birds would be, I dropped my hat. It was quite a ways back lying on the road. I looked at my dog and said "go get my hat". Much to my surprise, off she went. The dog picked up my hat and ran it straight back to me. We had a happy moment for sure.
We arrived at the hunting area and in we went. Not 5 minutes and the dog flushed up a pair of Pheasants. I shot one. We picked it up and carried on. A few minutes later and she scared up a couple more. BANG! Got another. This time she ran to the bird and brought it to me. Now I've not trained the dog for hunting so what a surprise.
My new to me dog has really turned out well for us both.

Doing a whole lot of nothing and it is driving me crazy. I got hit with a hard case of sciatica. I'm basically sidelined. I can't wait to get back on my feet!

OK -- that is enough whining. :)
You're not whining, I just winced when you told us. That's a horrible infliction. Get better quick.
Your fishing pals.

I have a Spartan, the hydros are serviceable, but the little filters (about as big as your thumb) are $60 each! Couple that with the synthetic engine oil they require, makes for a pretty expensive service.

Now that we have a proper shop my 15yo son and I have been doing a lot of work to the trans am. She was bone stock with 60k miles on her just 2 months ago. We just buttoned up the suspension upgrades along with new wheels and tires. It also got all new brakes along with stainless brake lines and a complete tune up. Next up is a gear swap and 3600 stall converter a local shop is doing for us first week of October. This winter the engine will get built and all the necessary safety equipment ( roll cage, seats, etc) will go in. Next season we intend to bracket race it In the summit points series.
