Isolating battery case from aluminum

My batteries are in battery boxes and secured so they do not wiggle much, but they have begun to remove the paint / finish from the area under them and also started to scratch the metal.

I'm wondering if some sort of thin foam sheet between the battery box and the bare deck would be advisable to keep down on wear?

Won't hurt anything. Might actually help the life of your battery if it reduces vibration.

i bought rubber door mats. cut them to size.

Yea my fuel tank is doing the same thing, I am thinking of getting some of that deck mat stuff, only because I like air to be able to circulate but, honestly it is no big deal to remove the mat when the boat is stored, I take the tank out anyway.

Thanks, I had a large piece of high density foam and I cut two pieces for the batteries to sit on and secured them. I think it will work well.
